OPEN AUDITIONS
Main Street Stage will have an open casting call for their late summer production of Eric Overmyer’s On the Verge. The show will be directed by Spencer Trova. Auditions will be held Tuesday June 1 from 6 p.m to 9 p.m at Main Street Stage, 57 Main Street, North Adams.
The cast includes three woman ages 25-40 and one man aged 25-40 to play 8 different characters.
Mary –Often construed as the main lady explorer of the expedition, Mary Baltimore constantly cites her favorite periodical (the fictional newspaper The Boston Geo) as a source of wisdom.
Alex–The youngest of the group, and she allows her age to make up a considerable amount of her personality. She is typically forgetful, and tends to daydream.
Fanny– The most conservative of the group in all aspects: socially, politically, and morally. She is the only married member of the group.
Male characters include:
Alphonse, Grover, The Yeti, The Gorge Troll, Mr. Coffee, Madame Nhu, Gus, and Nicky Paradise
Show Synopsis
Three Victorian lady explorers set out on an adventure that takes them to darkest Africa, highest Himalaya and Terra Incognita. Blending Tom Stoppard’s limber linguistics with the historic overview of a Thornton Wilder, Mr Overmyer takes his audience on a mirthful safari…spinning into time travel.

We want YOU for the Berkshire 24-Hour Theatre Project!
Calling all Berkshire County theatre people: The Berkshire 24 Hour Theatre project may not be happening until the 23rd and 24th of April, but the time to start thinking about it is now. Interested in working with people from across the county on a project that will only take 12 hours of your time? Interested in giving acting, writing or directing a try? The Berkshire 24 Hour Theatre project will begin at 7:00 PM on April 23rd as writers gather in Stone Soup at Topia in downtown Adams for a night of brainstorming and writing. At 7:00 the next morning, the writers will hand off their scripts to the pre-established acting and directing teams who will rehearse in spaces in downtown Adams. Everyone will rejoin at 7PM that evening for the big show.

Written by Joan Ackermann and directed by Kathy O’Mara, the play consists of 11 vignettes and examines the emotional landscape we roam as we travel in our cars. Control, navigation, love and escape, are some of the themes explored.
Some of the scenes explored are a protective father who guides his son through the neighborhood on Halloween; an actor on his way to perform Hamlet is in a rear-end collision and confrontation with a Czech cab driver; a devastated businessman strikes up a friendship with a homeless woman who sleeps in his car.
The cast includes company members Michael Trainor, Wendy Walraven, Lisa Remillard, April Castanguay, Jack Sleigh, Sarah Rae Brown, Jeremy Kerr, Cassidy Matthew, Eric K. Auld, Julia Les, Todd Hamilton and newcomers Andrew Bigelow, Breana Gladu and Abbigail Kelly.

Open Auditions for William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night!
Main Street Stage, located at 57 Main Street, North Adams, announces today an open casting call for their summer production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. The auditions will be held on Saturday May 9th and Sunday May 10th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A prepared classical monologue is encouraged, but not required. Actors will be asked to read sides from the script. The production is scheduled to open the last weekend into July and run for three weekends. Main Street Stage presents its First Annual Short Play Festival, featuring pieces written by you!
Submit your one-act plays (15 to 30 minutes in length) by November 15th for a chance to see them performed by living, breathing people this January! The Red Room Returns

At 9 p.m the show begins – original skits, live music, poetry, readings and more. The Red Room continues on Saturdays through April with a different show every week. Tickets are $10.
