After a two-year hiatus, the Redroom returns for one night only!  On November 3rd, at Studio21South in the Beaver Mill, doors will open at 8:00 PM for an hour of life drawing, mingling, raffles, and snacking.  Then, at 9:00 a show featuring favorite skits, dance, songs, dreams and improvised raps will begin.  Part variety show, part salon, and part fundraiser for Main Street Stage’s 2013 Backyard Tour, The Redroom is all local and all fun.   Entrance is $10.00 a person, but bring along a little extra for raffles and baked goods.  The show contains mature material.

From 2008-2010, the Redroom ran as a cabaret/variety show featuring short plays by local writers and Main Street Stage company members. It was rated at 5 out of 5 by the Berkshire Eagle’s “Region After Dark.” One audience member called it something you’d see in someone’s basement in Greenwich Village during the 1960’s.  The November 3rd event will draw upon scripts and ideas from all 3 years of Redroom’s run and will include “Grey’s Anatomy Parody,” “The Caroler’s Lament,” “The Breastfeeding Burlesque,” and “Shakespeare in the City” to name a few.

The money raised will go toward Main Street Stage’s Backyard Tour 2013. The Backyard Tour brings high quality, family friendly theatre directly into the neighborhoods of the Northern Berkshires.   In 2012, the company performed the King Stag free of charge in both Mohawk Forest and the Greylock Housing Project, and also at the Williamstown Youth Center, Bascom Lodge, The Mount, and the Gabriel Abott School on Florida Mountain.
